Extended Warranty for the TorrentX Waders
1. Our Philosophy & Your Guarantee
Our waders are engineered for performance and durability in the most demanding conditions. This warranty reflects our commitment to quality and covers defects in materials and workmanship. It is designed to get you back on the water quickly if a genuine manufacturing fault occurs. We also believe in product longevity and offer a comprehensive repair service for damage that occurs through normal use and accidents.
This document outlines two distinct levels of cover:
- Your Statutory Rights: These are your baseline, non-negotiable rights under UK consumer law, which apply to all customers.
- Our Enhanced Warranty: This is an additional, superior level of service with extra benefits, available exclusively to customers who register their product with us.
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights
2. Warranty Activation: The Key to Your Enhanced Warranty
To benefit from our full Enhanced Warranty, you must register your product online at www.ebbrox.com/activate-warranty within 30 days of the original purchase date.
Failure to register within this period means your product will be covered only by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The Enhanced Warranty is available only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. A valid proof of purchase (original sales receipt or invoice) is required for all claims.
3. Our Enhanced Warranty Coverage (For Registered Products Only)
Once your product is registered, you gain access to our tiered warranty service:
- Days 1–30: Leak-Free Replacement Guarantee. If your waders exhibit a leak from any seam or through the primary fabric due to a manufacturing defect within 30 days of purchase, we will replace them free of charge upon evaluation and confirmation of the defect. This generously covers your 30-day statutory "short-term right to reject".
- Day 30 to 1 Year: Free Repair Service. For the remainder of the first year of ownership, we will repair any failure due to a defect in materials or workmanship free of charge (This does not cover user error). This aligns with your statutory right to a repair or replacement for faulty goods.
- Beyond 1 Year: Flat-Fee Repair Service. After the first year of ownership, we will make every effort to repair your waders for a flat fee of £60. This service covers repairable damage, including issues arising from wear-and-tear and certain accidents, at our discretion. This fee includes evaluation, repair, testing, and return shipping. Please note that if we deem the issue irreparable, we will inform you upon assessment of the waders and return the item free of charge.
4. What is Covered: Defects in Materials and Workmanship
This warranty covers the failure of a product due to a flaw in its manufacturing process or the components used. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Seam tape that is improperly applied or cured at the factory.
- Fabric delamination not caused by external factors or improper care.
- Stitching failures that are not the result of abrasion or stress.
5. What is Not Covered: Comprehensive Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from any cause other than a defect in materials or workmanship. The determination of whether damage falls under these exclusions will be made by us in our sole but reasonable discretion following a physical evaluation of the product.
Exclusions include:
- a) Normal Wear and Tear: Fading of colours, general material abrasion (e.g., pilling in the crotch or inner legs), and the natural breakdown of materials and laminates over the expected lifetime of the product through extended use.
- b) Accidental Damage: Punctures, rips, tears, burns, or cuts from hooks, knives, rocks, tree branches, barbed wire, campfires, heaters, or any other environmental, sharp, or abrasive object.
- c) Improper Care, Storage, or Maintenance: Damage resulting from failure to follow care instructions. This includes, but is not limited to: seam tape delamination, fabric degradation, or odours caused by mildew, mould, or bacteria from storing the waders while wet or damp; damage from improper cleaning or drying, including the use of excessive heat; UV degradation from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight; and fabric creasing or delamination from being tightly folded or compressed for extended periods.
- d) Improper Use: Damage caused by use that is outside the scope of recreational fishing. This includes, but is not limited to: abrasion damage to the seat or inner legs caused by wearing abrasive garments such as denim jeans or trousers with rivets underneath; seam stress, fabric failure, or tearing caused by an improper or poor fit (e.g., waders being too tight or too short for the user's movements); and punctures or abrasion damage to neoprene booties caused by the use of aftermarket or worn-down wading boot studs, or by grit and sand inside the wading boot.
- e) Unauthorised Alterations or Repairs: Any modification, alteration, or attempted repair (e.g., applying non-approved adhesives such as superglue to seams) made by any person other than our authorised technicians. Such attempts can render the product unrepairable and will void this warranty.
- f) Consequential or Incidental Damages: This warranty does not cover lost fishing time, damage to other equipment (such as phones or cameras), or any other consequential loss.
- g) Non-Registered Products: Any product not registered online within 30 days of the original purchase date is not eligible for the Extended Warranty coverage detailed in Section 3.
6. How to Make a Claim Under the Extended Warranty
To initiate a claim, you must have registered your product.
- Contact us via email at info@ebbrox.com or speak to one of our team on 0333 335 7910
- Once you have contacted one of our team, you will be required to fill out a Returns and Exchanges form. On this form you will be required to provide your details, a description of the issue, and clear photographic evidence of the fault if possible.
- IMPORTANT: For health and safety regulations, all products must be returned to us in a clean and dry condition. Products received wet, soiled, or otherwise unserviceable will be returned to the customer unrepaired at their expense.
7. What If I Didn't Register My Product? (Your Statutory Rights)
If you did not register your product within 30 days, you are not eligible for our Extended Warranty. Your rights are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Claim Against the Retailer: Under the Act, your contract is with the retailer you purchased the goods from, and they are your point of contact for any claim. If you bought the waders from a third-party stockist, you must contact them directly.
- Time-Limited Rights: The Act provides a tiered system of remedies against the retailer:
- 0-30 Days: You have a short term right to reject faulty goods if they fall under the “Defects in materials and workmanship” (Section 4).
- 30 Days - 6 Months: For faults arising in this period, we are required to offer one opportunity for a repair. While the law presumes a fault is inherent, this is subject to our evaluation. We will inspect the product to determine if the failure is due to a manufacturing defect or a cause excluded by your statutory rights, such as accidental damage or misuse. If our evaluation shows the fault was not present at purchase, a free repair will not be offered
- After 6 Months: The burden of proof shifts to you to prove the item was faulty at the time of purchase. All of our products are quality checked before they leave the warehouse and our team does a very good job in doing so.
8. General Terms & Conditions
- Limitation of Liability: Our sole liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the product, at our discretion. The maximum value covered by this guarantee is the original price paid by the customer, as evidenced by the proof of purchase. We are not liable for any incidental or consequential damages.
Your Statutory Rights: This warranty gives you specific legal rights and is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. For more information on your statutory rights, we recommend contacting Citizens Advice.
